All that’s missing are a few penguins strolling by. We had snow like that for a day. It always amazes me how it doesn’t last here, between plows and traffic that turns it all to slush and a messy memory.
What this week’s photo brings up for me is my childhood in Connecticut…the early years 5-8, when the nuttiness hadn’t quite affected me yet. My dad would take me sleigh riding in Bearsley Park. We had a pizza sled, very apt for an Italian household…a round, gray disc you’d slide down on. I loved it. It came on a huge detachable rope my father would sling over his shoulder grabbing me with his other hand. I was happy just to be with my dad, 🙂
That would have completed the pic – at least the top one 🙂 We have been “blessed” with a decent quantity this year. It still amazes me that we don’t get half what we used to.
I love when my photos evoke memories in you. That means I have succeeded in making you, the wonderful viewer that you are, feel. And thank you for sharing that lovely memory. 🙂
You’ve achieved the Spielberg effect but to a much more resonant degree. That red, popping not once but three times against the backdrop. The formation, very similar to a cross. So ya captured Mother Nature’s cross. Or her Bermuda Triangle. Both.
And what is it about snow that is so comforting . . . when you’re not knee deep in the stuff?
Oh my! Spielberg, eh? And now that you mention it, it does! I love that you appreciate my playing with the image to give it a more artistic flair… Bermuda Triangle set out to capture he who would step too close… 😉
It’s that quiet we talked about, I think. It feels like insulation, doesn’t it?
Thank you. You are far to kind. But I’ll still take it!
Well done, Thunder! The second one is like a finger painting.
I especially like those red…. what are those?
The shadow under the plant is quite amazing. xoxo

That’s what art is supposed to do…it aspires to inspire, I’ve heard it phrased.

I can’t take credit for that, hearing it from a musician I once knew.

The cat. I love the one with the bookshelf. so cute, like Cary Grant in It Takes a Thief, but a real cat burglar. 🙂

Dear Dale,
You always manage to find the color against the drab. A little warmth in the cold. Well done…as always.
Shalom and lotsa groggy hugs in the early morning,

Dear Rochelle,
I do try to seek it out. I rarely play with an image to much extent but decided to have fun with this one. Glad it worked!
Shalom and lotsa colourful love,

Now that sure brightens up a cold-looking day. Spring is on the way!

I am so glad it does! It is STILL too cold for my liking today… Sigh. Spring? I ain’t seeing no signs yet! 🙂

The signs are still subtle for your area …. after all, when does spring start …. May?

Way too subtle… Haha! No, we do have small signs in March, when we are lucky. Definitely more in April…

LOL …. so stay warm! Then again, you are used to it and hearty!

Oh, I am. I have become a wimp. I’m not loving this endless cold, to be honest. I think Mick would have succeeded in making me become a snow bird…

Snowbirding is such a joy. No matter how cold it is, it’s always warmer than home. Perspective matters!

I bet. I have to admit I was not too keen on the Florida thing, which he was… it would have been a discussion…

The northern coast is cool – but warmer than home. More fun in sun in central and south Florida – but that also comes with a higher price.

I’m so bad… I resisted Cuba for years because too many Quebecers go there. They are obnoxious. I’d rather go to Tuscany 😉

Awesome choice – It can be cold there, but not like your cold. Yep – it’s all about perspective.
