I agree with you! There were eight yesterday evening. Unfortunately my camera is not strong enough to capture them when they were all hanging in the trees…
I dunno if you see the top image (in flight) or not – depends if you use the Reader or not 🙂
I took over 400 photos yesterday from 4:30-6:30. Needless to say, there are more than a few that will never see the light of day. Completely blurry but I was pleased out of the slew that these turned out. Plus a few more. I wouldn’t have to go out for weeks for WW 😉
And thank you.
Gah!!! I can’t believe I totally forgot to check out your wordless works of art! Mia culpa. As usual, you don’t disappoint. Love the grace, lighting and reflections. Beautimous.
Isn’t an egret basically a white heron?
And thank you. Guess it’s too hot for them in your neck. Mind you, I know there are herons or a variety of them in New Mexico…
Great shots all, Dale. Looks like the birdie is actually coming in for a landing, but you can make the case (which I shall) that it’s actually engaged in a very elegant dance. Yes, that’s what I’ll go with here.🙂
This is such an all in one contrast of a bird. You have frailty AND strength. And both sides are fused together so perfectly by the grace it displays when in flight. Its life is a spectacular ballet, isn’t it?
I love that you see that, too. They are such beautiful birds. They look just a tad less fierce their their grey/blue cousins, the herons – but I think it’s because of the white feathers… Life is definitely a spectacular ballet.
I’ve decided it’s a she dancing up a storm, especially in the second one. I can even hear castanets in the background. 🙂

Now I see her in flight. She’s very elegant, the Amelia Earhart of birds and you captured her so beautifully, as usual. 🙂

We had them on the coast but I haven’t seen them here at all so maybe it is the heat.

The one in flight? I do love the light on all three but that one is pretty cool, if I do say so myself! xoxo

It’s all right there, really. So awkward when not in motion and yet, so elegant when in flight. Strangest thing.
Yes, yes I do.

So true. I capture one walking – wish I could have filmed it and honestly, there is nothing elegant about them then!
Sweet. Like you.
