You know, these were taken one year ago (almost exactly) and I remember thinking how the snow blowing about gave everything a lovely look. So, more than appreciate your comment. I loved that red pop, too.
I thought it rather funny how two different houses, not on the same street decorated with old-fashioned snow shoes. Do come in, and if you like, later we can go play! 🙂
I forgot those snowshoes even existed. You had me at snow and red berries, Dale. We are lucky to have healthy holly bushes which burst forth with berries when they are so inclined. Red makes the season “pop” just a bit more, I think.
If you are feeling particularly nostalgic, you can still buy them here. I wish it would snow instead of rain. (These are from last year.)
I love the pop of red!
I would absolutely hate to think what Target might charge for those potted berry plants in the first image. Let’s begin the bidding at Sotheby’s prices before we get completely stupid! They are pretty, but I dunno, I think the snowshoes win the day for me in this trifecta. The third image produced an unhealthy flashback to when I wanted to have the front stairs of my old house repaired. It wasn’t that big of a job, but the two quotes I got were Target -like in nature. So I ditched the idea until I found a Mennonite guy who did it for a fraction of the price.
As for the snowshoes, I used to have a pair. I should’ve kept them.
I can only imagine. Course, if you saw the rest of the house that they are decorating, you’d know they cared not…
I love me the snowshoes! And to find not one but two houses using them as decorations… Hmmm… I think maybe next week, weather permitting, I shall go out and see if I can find more. Ugh. Tell me about costs… Lucky you have Mennonite guys near you! They work well and at a reasonable cost.
Let’s just say my right is stronger than my left ever since my cervical hernia. It affected the strength all the way down to my thumb. Between us, we have two good hands,.
Yes me too. I was doing a Zombie karate workout for the longest time, based on my old Tang Soo Do practices, and yes, I want to get back into that again.
Could be in a Decorating Magazine. Love how the red pops in the first one, and how clean and company ready, in the last.
The firs look like a welcoming committee…May we take your coat??? 🙂

Sights of the early decorators! And you do (but it’s from last year’s as it’s been raining for days here!)
Happy Wednesday!

Dear Dale,
Either of these photos could go on the front of a holiday card. Love the fact that they both decorated with snow shoes. Nice catch.
Shalom and lotsa warm cozy holiday love,

Dear Rochelle,
I think so too. And that’s why I chose them! Even the top one’s with the red berries could work (or do you not see that one?)

Fun decorating. I like the pops of colors, too. It is very dreary here.

Me too! This is a total cheat – a photo from last year as the past few days (including today) are wet and dreary here as well,,,

I really don’t want snow, but sunshine would be nice. 🙂

For me, come December, I’ll take some snow over any rain. It makes things brighter and less dreary!

It is no surprise these were taken in Canada. They are lovely photos, and the snowshoes and hockey sticks say a lot.

That’s unfortunate.
Yeah the snowshoes are a very cool decor piece. I remember using it as such in my store and of course that’s how I sold them. Works every time!
Really?

No, no, you misunderstood. I meant that they are not wanting for cash. They don’t look at the price 😉
They really are. They just speak nostalgia. And I don’t doubt they sold just like that (snaps fingers).
Yes, really!
