Thank you, Marina! These were from a couple of years ago at a bird sanctuary we have in my town as this year’s winter is stuck. Hardly any snow and for a reason I cannot understand (age?) I’ve become a wimp. It’s just too cold to enjoy. Glad you enjoyed!
Happy Wednesday, Frank!
Thank you. This bird sanctuary we have in my town is fantabulous. I really have to go there soon (this was from a coupla years ago shhhhh!)
Good morning to you!
Haha! I consider myself lucky when a chickadee or nuthatch comes to get nuts from my outstretched hand (I go to a park where they are particularly friendly)
Talk about a close-up! This one is so right up there that if you had sound, you would be able to hear what they’re talking about as far as dinner plans are concerned. Whoa!
And Bonne Maman on top of that! These birds have class!
Like that? They do twit away as they come and go, grabbing seeds. It was so much fun to watch them. I tried to focus on just one type but there were nuthatches and woodpeckers and cardinals, oh my!
Yes! They do. Of course, these were taken a couple of years ago. The birdhouses have all be replace, I heard tell. I must go back soon.
I do wonder at the origin of the name and no matter how I search, all they focus on is the fact these birds “walk” DOWN a tree trunk – this permits them to find bugs and such other birds don’t see. They are sweet little birds and yes, I can think of a few at work that definitely have the ‘nut’ part…
Yes, very much so. I love it. I seem to always miss the hawks or owls (except those two times).
Now that you explain it like that, I can’t compare these cool little creatures with the nuts I deal with. Nope, no way. I can only hope that like the feathery kind, the certain peeps I know take flight for someone else.
Hawks and owls are amazing to see up close. A tad bit daunting with their wingspan but worth it.
I know. Sorry about that. They are cool little birds. And yeah, I wish certain peeps would take a looong flight away.
Yes. I would love to capture an owl in flight. I think I caught part of a hawk without knowing it was until I saw the pic on my computer. Crap shot, unfortunately.
That nearby bird sanctuary sounds great, Dale. You are lucky to have close access to it. These pictures made me smile so much. I love watching birds at any time of year. Beautiful pair here!
Aw, love those shots, CNL! Bonne Mamam makes a lovely feeder! 😉

Dear Dale,
These photos are lovely…and possibly inspiring. 😉 What kind of birds are they? Once more you’ve captured the moment for us to enjoy.
Shalom and lotsa hugs taking wing,
Rochelle

Thank you. It wouldn’t do to render a bird in watercolour and not know what it is. 😉

This is true 😉 Isn’t that tail beautiful? And I think I got a few angles which should help the artist…

Oh I so love these. Makes me want birds on my window sill chirping just for me.
You’ve also reminded me that spring will come again in all her warm regalia.
Very, very beautiful Dale.

Aren’t they so pretty?
These beauties stick around through the cold months. So generous they are.
Makes me want to get a bird feeder (now that no cats live at my house).
Thank you, Susannah 😊

You could be the Saint Francis of Canada. Birds were known to sit on his shoulders. Handy for you while you’re taking pictures. 🙂

A nuthatch is an interesting name, and one Imma have to use for several people I work with. The meaning might be a little different, but hey . . .
That’s cool that someone or someones keep up with that. The birds deserve nice digs just the same as anyone else.
Another winnah!
