As far as modern architecture goes, this is what’s up. Pun intended.
Seriously though, if you are going to go modernity in the city, these buildings possess the flow. They stand out AND they belong to the city around them, both. Even if that bridge makes me wince. Having walked across those puppies, it ain’t no thing from the inside, but when you check it out from this vantage point, nawh. I’d much rather listen to Kiedis rail on about bridges.
It’s just a hop, skip and a jump from Old Montreal and there are some older buildings in that vicinity but they ain’t lit up like these. Julie’s son-in-law was one of the architects of that bridge and building. I have no doubt the willies would be accompanying me were I to cross; which I would 😉
How cool is that that he was a part of that complex. And yeah, the willies is a part of the walk I think. For some. Not for me of course since it ain’t no thing. I’m enclosed!
Good morning. Your urban view surprised me, but the colors against the black stand out. Personally, I like modern architecture in the city centers. Happy Wednesday!
Good morning, Frank,
Why did it surprise you?
There have been so many new buildings and, while my friend and I went out to the Place des Arts to see a Margie Gillis dance, we had no idea there was a huge party going on in this, the Quartier des Spectacles (Entertainment Quarter) Where the pink lights were, people were dancing and there was a band…
Happy Wednesday to you!
I know what you mean. I was hoping to include some of the older buildings but nothing really stood out against those bright lights! Happy Hump and EWF Day!
This has a George Lucas feel to it, like any minute we’ll see Indiana Jones appear. It also looks etched and painted, as if you shot if off an easel. Like it a lot. 🙂
Ooh, I like that! And so glad you like 🙂
I had trouble limiting myself to three shots. I kinda sorta wish I’d included the throngs of dancers with the band. But hey… maybe next week 😉

Or have you capture them so beautifully.

Yes. You could see Julie’s pride in him. Hahah! It’s not for everyone, that is for sure…

The first thought that ran through my head was Lego building blocks.

Thank you, John. While the “green” one is a tad fuzzy, I liked it still for that very reason. The night was perfection.

OMG! these shots are fantastic, Thunder!
Not only that, but we are in sync, in a way. My latest will bear that out, but not in a grizzly way. xx

I bet it was hard – and too many can distract so your restraint was worth it – ha
