You’ve given us a preview of coming attractions, and spring….she’s never looked better. That robin looks as if one can hear him sing. Sinatra? The Beatles? Marvin Gaye? WW is always a pleasure Dale. π
It was a snowy walk, last Thursday. In that tree there must have been a dozen of these handsome fellas. By the time I started clicking, most flew off. This guy mighta been the lead singer… Say Smokey Robinson with his Miracles.
Happy you enjoyed my WW, Susannah.
Fashion designers everywhere are cooing for some of that color so’s they can add it to their spring collection tutti sweetie!
And the spring is calling through those trees, fiercely. It’s Mother Nature playing ping pong with herself, really. Winter . . Spring! Winter . . . Spring! Winter . . SPRING!
He really was part of the berries and Christmas lights in that tree!
He knows the what’s what, tell you what!
Considering how hard it was snowing (maybe a tad less at that point), it’s definitely a tad difficult to imagine that spring is ’round he corner for us (unless you, where it’s been there for weeks!). Here? Definitely a full-on ping-pong match is going on. Just hoping Spring wins this round!
Gracias; I always appreciate your lovely comments.
The man’s got camo down beautifully, so yeah, he definitely knows his stuff!
Spring’s warming up in the bullpen, so really, it’s just a matter of not allowing Mother Nature any more big innings. A hit here and there, whatevs. But keep the damage to a minimum . . .
It sucks! I run in wind and when I’m done running, I have zero sense of satisfaction because I realize that I was a stupid idiot when I could have skipped a day!
Thank you, my friend. I was pretty pleased that these guys hung around (there must have been a dozen in the tree when I arrived) and allowed me to capture them.
I still do not understand why robins rush into the cold weather each year. They were here for about a week and then took off again. Terrific photos, Dale.
What are you talking about? These guys hang around all year! It’s funny how some leave and some stay, don’t you think? At least they took a short holiday to visit!!!
Thank you, John.
Thank you, Merril!
Yes, these plump guys have lots of berries to nosh on, so why leave? It felt like it even as I tried to take photos through the snowflakes π The air is slowly changing… right?
Instant smiles… Loooooove all of them!
Thank you for sharing beauty, chère CNL!

He does, doesn’t he?
It is. Today’s run was in just below freezing but with all the “meltage” around, it didn’t seem so bad. It’s definitely in the air – spring, that is.

Beautifully so.
I love that air. It’s crisp and it invigorates you during the run. As long as there is no wind attached to that crisp, cool air. That’s another story.

Love it
And yes, crisp air is perfect for a run and definitely sans wind. Wind ruins everything – unless you’re sailing…

Which really blows because in truth, you should have twice the points for having had to battle not only the run itself but the elements!

Right? That’s the very least that should happen when wind is your opponent. Fucking A!

Despite the weather you’ve recently experienced, nothing says ‘spring is coming’ quite like a Robin. Beautiful shot, Dale.

Yes. It is surprising that there are hundreds of robins running around and then none.

It is crazy! It’s like geese here. Though a few do hang around, most disappear after a bit.

Even if the robins stay all winter, that tree is definitely looking like spring is coming–snow or not! π
